Blake Hoffarber
Blake Hoffarber is a young basketball player whose brief career has contained two buzzer-beating—some would say miraculous—winning shots. His first came in 2005, playing for the Hopkins High School Royals in the
Minnesota State championship game: with seconds left, he was
knocked to the floor, caught the ball and made an 18 foot winning shot—while laying on his back. The shot earned him an
ESPY Award.
Hoffarber scored his second squeaker on March 15, 2008, as freshman shooting guard for University of Minnesota, beating out Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament. With a second or two remaining, he caught a long inbound pass at the three-point line and scored, putting his team up, 59 to 58.
