Story

The story is loosely based on the Hundred Years' War. Players can align with either the French or the British. The characters in the game are based on historical figures.

Gameplay

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War puts players in direct control of mercenaries. Players are able to align with either the France or England, select specific contracts, and affect which side will come out victorious. Players control the different squads of soldiers. There are various types of fighters:

Cavalry
Infantry
Archers
Elephants
Cannoniers
Castle siege units

Characters can level up the different types of combat: Swords, maces, knives, etc. Troops gain strength as they gain combat experience.
