As people are leaving the service, Chief reaches out to Tigh, shocking both Tigh and Tory.
- Tigh visits the imprisoned Caprica Six and as he is talking to her he sees his dead wife, Ellen, in her face. She notes that he comes every day to see her, but doesn't want anything. Is there something she can help with with, something he needs from her, she asks, but he gets angry and leaves in a huff.
- Tigh and Tory visit Chief Tyrol in his quarters. He is feeling guilty, but Tory tells him he is perfect as he is. He was not made to suffer guilt. Tyrol reminds them that they were supposed to keep being the men they always were. Tigh tells him that what he is feeling is normal and that haunting feeling will never go away, and you can tell that again he is thinking about Ellen and how he killed her for betraying them to the Cylons on New Caprica.
- Tory visits Gaius Baltar and asks him if God forgives you if you commit a sin. She asks if you become one with God, and are a part of God, if that means you can do no wrong in God's eyes. As they are talking a squad of terrorists calling themselves the Sons of Ares come with weapons swinging. Tory is attacked, but she hides Baltar.
- Chief is working on a ship, but daydreaming about the past with Cally, when she was first pregnant. Racetrack comes in and asks if he's done messing around, she's got a schedule. He tells her she can go ahead and take the ship out, but it malfunctions and the crew crashes in the hangar.
- Baltar realizes that he and his followers were attacked because of their belief in the One God.

- Roslin visits Baltar in the brig and tells him she's watching him. She's dying, but just because she's dying doesn't mean that she will relax on the rules and the laws. She plans to uphold them, and keep her eye close on him. She just isn't in the mood to mess around with or indulge him anymore. She releases him and tells him to keep out of trouble.
- Adama finds Chief at the bar and sits beside him. He starts to try and comfort him, telling him to take time off if he needs it, or to schedule more hours if that would help, but Chief hears him say something about how hard it must have been on Cally when she found out her husband was a cylon and her baby was some kind of half-human half-cylon monster. It was his imagination, but it sets something off inside him and he loses his temper. He says that Cally wasn't an angel, she wasn't perfect, she wasn't even what he wanted in life, but a lot of people had to settle. Things were crazy, life was too limited and there were so few options. Boomer didn't know what she was, but he loved her anyway, and she was the one he really wanted more than anything, but then she turned out to be a Cylon. That is how she learns, it's how she becomes more human herself. She beings talking about how love for a man made her see how much she'd hurt and destroyed and without that love she might never have understood. Tigh only sees her as Ellen, but when she mentions her love for Gaius Baltar, he goes mad and sends everyone out of the observation room so they can have privacy. Once they are alone she tells him that when you're in pain, it's when you learn who you really are.
- Baltar and a group of his followers return to their quarters to find guards posted outside. He steps forward and the guard knocks him down.
- Caprica Six promises Tigh she can help him feel the clarity, and then she starts punching him. She knocks him down and keeps beating him.
- The guards continue to beat Baltar back, but Six keeps holding him forward, pushing him even against his will, and just as they are knocking him back again Lee Adama comes and tells them that the chorum voted against the right to assembly ban, and that the people can return to their quarters together. There is some spark in everyone that he feels is like God, but it's in every one of us. He says that the truth is, we are all perfect just as we are, and God only loves those who are perfect. They are all perfect, just as they are.

She takes a viper out on patrol with Hot Dog, and they spot an incoming Cylon raider on the Draedus. Starbuck keeps whispering for a signal. She hears Leoben's voice over the radio. He says that he knew she'd be there searching for him, and that it is time for her to embrace the next level of her destiny. She brings Leoben aboard, and he tells her that her journey can now begin. The Cylons need her help, he says, but not as much as she needs their help. He tells her she needs to jump to the base star and speak to the Hybrid. The Hybrid can tell her things, amazing things. Starbuck has them take Leoben to her quarters.
- Tory approaches a lamenting Chief on the hangar deck. He is obviously ruminating about the accident, and about Cally's death. Kara insists that the Cylons can help, but Sam has them lock Leoben up. While locked up, Sam comes in and begins interrogating Leoben. Leoben tells Sam that he only wants to help Kara understand her destiny. As Sam is backing away, Leoben says, "Seabucks rule." Then he goes on that he always knew Sam was destined for so much more than playing pyramid. He wasn't just a pretty poster-boy. Leoben goes on that the Cylons have split down the middle, and there are those who embrace their nature battling against those who don't. He proposes that they ally with them and then the Hybrid can show Kara the way to Earth.
- Sam shares with the crew what he learned from Leoben. Athena-Sharon tells him that they would be crazy to even consider it and that if Starbuck agreed she would be leading them straight into a trap.
- Baltar and Tory are in bed together. Baltar asks what she hears from Roslin, how well the president is taking his radio broadcast. Tory tells him that she's tried to push the issue, but Roslin doesn't have time for his petty nonsense anymore, and won't waste precious Chorum time on Baltar.
- Chief listens in live at one of Baltar's speeches. While Baltar is talking Colonel Tigh shows up and tells Chief they need to talk. Tyrol tells Tigh he has nothing to say to him. Tigh tells him to pull himself together or he'll draw attention to himself. Tyrol asks about all of the time Tigh's been spending with the Six model in the brig. Then he says that Tigh said they wouldn't change who they were, but they were changing and it was out of control. He tells Tigh that Tory believes they can lead humanity to salvation, but if there is a god, he's laughing his ass off.
- Matthias is inspecting Leoben's raider for damage and tracking devices. She comes upon a gas leak that explodes and kills her.

Chief tells him he's not like Cally. Baltar reaches out again, and tells Chief to take his hand, but Chief goes for his throat instead and while choking Baltar, he screams, "You didn't know her!" He storms off to his quarters and sits raging with a gun. He wants to kill himself, but he can't and he knows it. Something holds him back and then he sees a picture of Cally holding Nicky on New Caprica. This calms him.
- After the explosion, Starbuck busts into their makeshift brig and attacks Leoben, accusing him of setting her up. He begs her to kill him, it would be just like old tims back on New Caprica. How many times had she killed him then, only this time he wouldn't be able to come back. She asks what he's doing to her. He tells her that all of her life she's hidden from her true nature behind violence, ambrosia and affairs. "You have to make peace with your past because that part of you is gone," he tells her.
- The crew is in a quandary over Starbuck before she comes in and says a few words about the senselessness of Matthias's death. She then tells them they aren't going to rejoin the fleet. When he finishes his speech and stands up to leave, Chief holds his hand out in forgiveness, and the two of them shake.
- Athena-Sharon argues with Helo over his decision to follow Starbuck. Everyone thinks they should mutiny, but Helo is wrestling with his conscience over it. Finally Starbuck comes and announces her decision to jump and find the Cylon base ship so she can speak to the Hybrid like Leoben told her to do. Helo tries to talkl her out of it, and when she tells him to arrange to jump he refuses. She relieves him from his duties and turns them over to Gaeta. Gaeta also tells her no. Sam tells them they need to think carefully about what they're doing. Starbuck tells Sam they have thought about it long and hard, all of them. Helo then relieves her of her command.
