Bake Me a Wish
Bake Me a Wish is a mail-order foods company based in New York City that bakes and ships cakes. The cakes are mailed to the recipient. Cakes cost between $15 and $35, with an additional $5 to $20 for shipping and handling.1
The company has a program called "Operation Birthday Cake" to deliver cakes to soldiers serving overseas. Bake Me a Wish puts 5% of the purchase price of some cakes towards buying cakes for soldiers. The organization Soldier's Angels then ships the cakes each month. If a customer orders the Freedom Cake, another Freedom Cake will be sent to the troops.2

According to the company's founder, only cakes that can survive the reportedly rough trip to Iraq and Afghanistan are available to ship overseas.4
