Guide Note

Baha'i is a religion that was founded in Persia in the 19th century by Baha'u'llah. There are about five or six million people who practice this religion in about 200 countries. The main message of the religion is Unity. Is is taught that there is only one God and one human race.

Persecution

Baha'is are prosecuted in Islamic countries. Between 1978 and 1998, more than 200 Baha'is were executed. Clergy said that anyone following the faith were enemies of God which caused the public executions.
