Auma Obama

Auma Obama is U. S. Senator Barack Obama's half sister. She currently lives in Kenya, but has been active campaigning for him in the United States, particularly in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Auma Obama was born to Barack Hussein Obama Senior's first wife in Kenya.

Barack Obama (the politician) was born to Obama senior's American wife, after Obama senior had traveled to the US to study. The marriage was very brief and Obama snr. returned to Kenya after studying a postgraduate course at Harvard.

Barack and Auma first met after the death of Obama senior. Young Obama wrote to Auma in Kenya and they eventually met Barack while he was working as a was a community activist in Chicago.
