Guide Note: A tornado tore a path of destruction through downtown Atlanta, GA on March 14, 2008, at about 9:45 p.m. The twister reportedly caused the partial collapse of an apartment building, struck the Georgia Dome in the midst of a Southeastern Conference Tournament game and damaged CNN's Atlanta headquarters.

The Associated Press reported collapsed billboards and office furniture littering the street. At least a portion of a building containing artists' lofts collapsed.

Reportedly, the Georgia Dome was hit by the Atlanta tornado during the SEC Tournament game between Mississippi State and the University of Alabama, causing an hour-long disruption in the game and debris to fall from the rafters. The game between the University of Georgia and the University of Kentucky, scheduled to take place later in the night, was postponed to Saturday. Fast Facts:
