Assad Sarwar
Assad Sarwar was one of the eight suspects arrested in August 2006 and put on trial in the Heathrow Aircraft Bomb Plot Trial.1 On September 8, 2008, Sarwar was found guilty in London of plotting to kill "persons unknown" using liquid explosives.2

Trial Background
Sarwar is one of the three top conspirators who was charged, along with Mohammed Gulzar and the alleged ringleader, Ahmed Abdullah Ali. Ali, Sarwar and Tanvair Hussain admitted to plotting a conspiracy to cause explosions in July 2008 and were found guilty the following month.3
Additionally, Sarwar and four other defendants plead guilty to the allegation of conspiring to inflict public problems.4
