Asperger syndrome is an autism like disease in which individuals have normal intelligence and speech development, but tend to be deficient in communication and social interaction skills.

Symptoms

Individuals with Asperger syndrome usually have an average to an above average vocabulary and intelligence. They they have problems with social interactions and may not respond to social cues or the feelings of others. They may be somewhat clumsy and may have a strange accent or tone in their speech. Affected individuals may have difficultly expressing how they feel. Many symptoms can present strongly or weakly in each individual.²

There are an estimated three individuals with Asperger syndrome out of 10,000.²
