Spitzer Scandal
Dupre reportedly worked as a call girl under the professional name Kristen, and had a liaison with Spitzer on February 13, 2008, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington.1 She was not been charged with a crime, but was subpoenaed to testify in the grand jury investigation of Spitzer.3
Entertainment Career
Dupre has worked as a professional singer, and has been trying to build a career in the music business. Two demo songs, "What We Want" and "Move Ya Body," are available through Amie Street's web site. Penthouse Magazine has reportedly offered Dupre $1 million for a nude photo spread, although Dupre has not yet responded to the offer.
Girls Gone Wild Controversy
On March 18, 2008, Girls Gone Wild (GGW) founder Joe Francis offered Dupre $1 million for a DVD and publicity tour, but rescinded the offer later the same day, claiming that GGW already possessed "hours of footage" of Dupre that he would be releasing as a free DVD.4
Dupre's lawyer subsequently claimed that Dupre was under 18 when the footage was taken. Footage was then uncovered in which Dupre stated her age as 18. Dupre brought a lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild, claiming they first plied her with alcohol to ensure she was intoxicated when she signed the release.5
On July 4, 2008, Dupre announced that she was dropping the lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild, stating that she was ready to move on with her career.6
Mood: Thankful!
In late June of 2008, Dupre posted a message on her MySpace page thanking her supporters. She wrote, "Thank you all so much for taking the time to send me a bit of strength and inspiration via e-mail or comment...Your words have touched me, and I thank you for that ... with all my heart, I love you guys!." She also set her mood icon to read "thankful."7

"She is a very bright girl who can handle someone like the governor...But she also is a 22-year-old, not a 32-year-old or a 42-year-old, and she obviously got involved in something much larger than her."—Carolyn Capalbo, Dupre's mother, Telegraph9
"I'm sticking by my sister, doing everything so she'll be fine...She'll make it through."—Kyle Youmans, Dupre's brother, CNN4
"That’s why we’re tight like a family. We can relate to her in a lot of ways. We’re like each other’s crutches. She definitely had a rough life. And she definitely, at the age that she is, is a strong, independent woman. I think people should look at that aspect instead of the way the media is portraying her out to be."—Friend, hip-hop artist Robert "Mysterious" Cummings, MSNBC10

- "About Ashley Alexandra Dupré: I am all about my music, and my music is all about me… It flows from what I’ve been through, what I’ve seen and how I feel. I live in New York and am on top of the world... When I was 17, I left home. It was my decision and I’ve never looked back. Left my hometown. Left a broken family. Left abuse. Left an older brother who had already split. Left and learned what it was like to have everything, and lose it, again and again. Learned what it was like to wake up one day and have the people you care about most gone. I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own..."—Ashley Dupre, official MySpace profile
