Guide Note:Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the alleged high-priced call girl hired by former
New York Governor
Eliot Spitzer, received a $1 million offer from the head of the
Girls Gone Wild video empire,
Joe Francis, to tell her story, appear on a DVD (no nudity required), and tour with
Girls Gone Wild. Francis made the offer to Dupre a week after his release from a Nevada prison for tax evasion, and after subsequently pleading no contest to charges of child abuse and prostitution in conjunction with the filming of underage girls during Spring Break in Panama City,
Florida, in 2003.
Later the same day, Francis announced that Girls Gone Wild already possessed tapes of Dupre, from a week-long Miami session filmed during the same 2003 spring break.
Some of the footage reportedly appears on the Girls Gone Wild: Spring Break 2005 - Anything Goes DVD. On March 22, Francis announced that a DVD of additional 2003-vintage Dupre footage, to be called Hookers Gone Wild, will be included as a free insert in the new Girls Gone Wild magazine, due out on April 15.
Dupre's lawyer claims that she was underage when the footage was taken, having not yet turned 18. On March 27, 2008, TMZ.com released footage of Dupre from the Girls Gone Wild shoot in which she stated that her name was Amber Arpaio, and that she was over 18.
Dupre has, at various times, gone by the names Ashley Youmans, Ashley DiPietro, and Amber Arpaio.
