Before Ashley Alexandra Dupre made headlines in the prostitution scandal surrounding former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, the alleged call girl spent time with a Girls Gone Wild tour bus during spring break, 2003, in Miami, Florida. Dupre is now suing Girls Gone Wild for over $10 million.

Girls Gone Wild claims that Dupre appears on "hours" of video footage owned by the company, shot during the week of Dupre's 18th birthday, while she was staying in Miami with friends.

In a complaint filed in Miami, Florida, Dupre's lawyers argued that she was plied with alcohol, convinced to expose her breasts, and then convinced to sign a release form. The lawsuit claims that Girls Gone Wild's standard practice is to ensure women are intoxicated before asking them to sign a release. The lawsuit, according to multiple news sources, is for over $10 million.

Dupre's lawyer claims that she was underage when the footage was taken, having not yet turned 18. On March 27, 2008, TMZ.com released footage of Dupre from the Girls Gone Wild shoot in which she stated that her name was Amber Arpaio, and that she was over 18. She is also shown providing her ID to the producer, which many suspect was fake.

Dupre's legal name is Ashley DiPietro, although her birth name is Ashley Youmans.

On March 18, 2008, Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis, newly released from a Nevada prison where he served time for tax evasion, responded to the firestorm of publicity on the Spitzer scandal by offering Dupre $1 million for a DVD and publicity tour, with no nudity required. Francis apparently checked the company's release forms immediately afterward, because he rescinded the offer later the same day, claiming that his company already possessed video footage of Dupre.

During the same whirlwind week, Francis pleaded no contest, as part of a plea bargain, to charges of child abuse and "filming underage girls in sexual situations," stemming from a simultaneous, but unrelated, 2003 spring break filming in Panama City, Florida.

According to reports, Dupre appears in the Girls Gone Wild: Spring Break 2005 - Anything Goes DVD -- which, since the footage was apparently shot two years earlier, does little to bolster the documentary integrity of Girls Gone Wild products. On March 22, Francis announced that a new DVD of 2003-vintage Dupre footage, to be called Hookers Gone Wild, will be included as a free insert in the new Girls Gone Wild magazine, due out on April 15.
