Attractions
One of the most popular attractions in Asheville is the Biltmore House. This French Renaissance inspired chateau was built between 1888 and 1895. Today it's the largest privately owned home in the States.
Other attractions include the Botanical Gardens, take the walking trails and learn about the native plants, and carnivorous plants like the Venus fly trap, pitcher plants and sundew. Sliding Rock is a great place to visit for families, enjoy a 60-foot water slide, then drive two miles away and visit the Looking Glass Falls. Enjoy the misty breeze coming off the waterfalls. Remember to bring your camera, the views are breathtaking.
Festivals and Events
No matter what time of year you visit, Asheville has a festival or event for you to enjoy. The Brewgrass Festival brings beer and music to the streets every September. In August enjoy stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while listening to free outdoor concerts at the Biltmore Estate. Bele Chere outdoor street festival attracts more than 350,000 people every year. Listen to live music on six stages.
