Arletha Hopkins
On July 28, 2008, the daughter of Arletha Hopkins contacted authorities and reported that her father, a preacher named Anthony Hopkins, had sexually abused her for years. She also said that her father killed Arletha Hopkins and hid the body.1 Police obtained a search warrant and discovered the body in Hopkins' freezer. After giving a sermon at the church he frequented, Hopkins was arrested and charged with murder and incest.2

Daughter's Statement To Authorities
Arletha Hopkins' daughter went to the Mobile Department of Child Advocacy Center in Alabama on July 28, 2008. She reported that in November of 2004 her mother caught her father sexually abusing her in the bathroom. She told investigators that her parents argued and Arletha locked her husband out of the house. Arletha later let him back in.1
Body in Freezer
The girl said that the next morning, her father asked her to help him hide Arletha Hopkins' body. The body was then put in a freezer in the laundry room. The girl told investigators that she left the house about two weeks earlier and the body was still there.1
