The "Aquada" is a vehicle manufactured by Gibbs Technologies. The Aquada is capable of driving on the road like car then transitioning directly into the water, where it can be operated as a boat. The transition takes about five seconds and can be controlled from the driver's seat.1
In July 2008 the British manufacturer announced it would open a plant in Detroit, Michigan, to produce the Aquada.2
