Apple

Guide Note:

Apple Inc. is a corporation that develops and markets various consumer electronics, including computers, MP3 players, mobile phones, and various other computer-related products. Among the most popular products in their catalogue are the iPhone, an internet-optimized mobile phone, the iPod, an MP3 player, and the MacBook, a laptop computer. Apple also develops software applications, including the media player iTunes, the Safari Web Browser, and the operating system made for Mac computers, Mac OS X.

Apple was started as Apple Computers Inc. in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, and since very early in its existence has made a name for itself with creative marketing, attention to design, and products that are useful in the office as well as the home. Although Apple has never enjoyed the market saturation that PC computers have, in recent years it has gained substantially in market share in the personal computer market. It has also enjoyed success in the other markets, including commercial electronics, software, and online music sales.
