Anywhere, U.S.A. is an eclectic film filmed in and around Asheville, North Carolina, with local actors, which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. The film is split into three different segments, each wackier than the one before. The film won the Special Jury Prize for Independent Spirit at the Festival.

The film consists of three separate episodes, with little linking them except their sensibility and their use of unique-looking characters. Most of the characters could be described, perjoratively, as "white trash", but their zany take on life and innocent give them a certain nobility. In the first episode, for instance, a cohabiting boyfriend and girlfriend (Mary Griffin) access the Internet from their doublewide in the North Carolina woods. When the boyfriend discovers that his love has begun consuming pistachios, he tells his friend [[(played by the director, Chusy Haney-Jardine), who immediately comes to the conclusion that the poor woman is being bilked online by a terrorist (pistachios, after all, come from the Middle East.) The other two segments feature a niece who accidentally ingests a pot brownie and stops believing in the tooth fairy, and a man who realizes, between bites 23 and 27 of his steak, that he does not know any black people.
