Anthrax Northern Iraq
37 people contracted anthrax from livestock in the Kurdish Autonomy in Northern Iraq, the local Health Ministry reported. The symptoms appeared on the skin of the sick, and there were no fatalities resulting from the infection. The authorities add that the ministries of health and agriculture are working to prevent the disease from spreading.1
Nothing suggests that the outbreak occurred as a result of biological warfare or the use of weapons of mass destruction.1
