Incorporated in 1981, Alliant Energy Corporation is a public utility holding company. It is comprised of several subsidiaries which provide electricity to northern Iowa, southern Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin.

The company also provides non-regulated services, including ground transportation and wind and geothermal energy engineering.
