On Wednesday, April 18, 2008, Hypnotist Alex Lenkei underwent surgery on his right hand without the use of anesthesia.

Lenkei told CBS's The Early Show that he felt no pain. He said he was aware of what was going on around him, from the doctors to the hammer and chisel being used. Lenkei also states that it took 30 seconds to a minute to place himself into a state of hypnosis.

The operation was done in hopes of improving Lenkei's arthritis. Doctors removed a piece of bone at the base of his thumb and fused some joints together. Fast Facts:
