Story
Alan Wake was a wildly successful horror novelist until his fiance mysteriously disappeared. Devastated by the loss of his muse, he stops writing and eventually suffers from prolonged insomnia until the day he checks into a sleep clinic located in a small Washington town called Bright Falls. The peaceful outdoors setting and treatment effectively cure him of his affliction and he takes up writing again, but after meeting a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to his late bride-to-be, he unexpectedly starts experiencing the same dreams he had when they were still together. Even worse, they are now becoming real.
Gameplay
The entire town and surrounding woodland areas will be open for the player to explore at their own discretion. As the story progresses, light will become more absent allowing for Alan’s nightmares to manifest with increased frequency so it will be crucial to find alternate methods to fight off the shadows. The game also features a dynamic weather system capable of conjuring anything from mild showers to a furious tornado.
