Independent politician Alan Keyes was the 16th Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs for President Ronald Reagan from 1985 to 1987. The author and former diplomat has run for the Republican nomination for President three times - in 1996, 2000, and 2008.

Career in Radio
In 1994, Keyes hosted the syndicated radio show The Alan Keyes Show: America's Wake-Up Call. He was also the host of the 2002 show, Alan Keyes is Making Sense, which was canceled within a year due to poor ratings.
