Air Car
The technology for an air car is being explored by a European company known as MDI. Dubbed the FlowAIR The concept car utilizes tanks of compressed air to drive the engine, allowing about 150 miles between refills (of compressed air).1 Magnetic Air Cars plans to have a similar car ready by 2010 or sooner.2

Future Potential
A hybrid version of the car can go about 3000 miles on one tank of gasoline or biofuel. It is reported that a recent partnership with Tata, India's largest car manufacturer, will help popularize the vehicle and allow it to go into mass production. In addition, an American company, Zero Pollution Motors, has been licensed to produce the car as well.
