Characters in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, are an online representation of a persona within the game. Those controlled by a player are typically referred to as characters, while those controlled by the game are usually referred to as non-player characters (NPCs).

Player characters in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures are created within a user account on an online server. Players are allowed eight different characters per server. During set-up, players have the option of selecting from three playable races, four archetypes within each race, and three class selections within each archetype.

Multiple character development options and skill, ability and deadly spell customizations are available, to ensure that no two characters are exactly alike. Some of the customizable characteristics include: appearance, class, race, feats, professions and equipment.

Primary Character

A player's primary (or main) character is usually the first character a player creates and plays. It is usually the one that has the most play time and resource investment. Additional characters (or alts) are additional characters to which a player devotes less time and effort.
