Agatha Christie

Guide Note

The "Queen of Crime", Agatha Christie was a prolific English writer of novels, short stories and plays. Best remembered for her 80 detective novels and her successful West End theatre plays, Christie also wrote romances under the name Mary Westmacott. Her mysteries, particularly those featuring her famous characters Hercule Poirot or Miss Jane Marple made her one of the most important writers of the genre. Christie has been called the best-selling writer of books of all time, with only the Bible to have outsold her collected sales of roughly four billion.
