Young wrote the song "Reason I Live," which appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Little Vampires. He also appeared on an episode of Half & Half before competing on Idol.³

Young's vocals can be heard on songs like Shut it Down, Bad Mofo and So Fly, which are on Tha Vill's album, Welcome 2 Tha Vill. Young even co-wrote several of the songs that appeared on the album.

Young could be seen on an episode of Bones, where he portrayed a musician.⁵ Young's first single following Idol was "Scattered," which was released in 2006.⁶

During Idol, Young became friends with fellow contestant Chris Daughtry. They co-wrote the single "It's Not Over," which they received a Grammy nomination for.

After working on his debut album for 16 months, it was finally released on July 15, 2008.⁷ The album's debut single, "Addicted," was released on April 15. Tha Vill can be heard on the song "Fast Life."⁸
