The World Wildlife Fund is condemning a highly controversial commercial featuring images of the 9-11 terror attacks in New York. The WWF says it "strongly condemns" the unauthorized ad, which also makes mention of the 2005 tsunami disaster. On September 3, 2009, the WWF issued a statement apologizing to 9-11 victims and their families.http://www.worldwildlife.org/who/media/press/2009/WWFPresitem13559.html
The ad, put together by the Brazilian advertising firm DDB Brasil, shows planes hitting the World Trade Center; moments later several dozen planes can be seen heading toward lower Manhattan. The tagline reads: "The tsunami killed 100 times more people than 9/11. The planet is brutally powerful. Respect it. Preserve it."http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2009/09/02/2009-09-02_wwf_appalled_by_911_terror_ad.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V42EUKOknU8
