A Chihuahua-terrier mix puppy born with five legs was sold to a South Carolina woman in July of 2009, after she outbid operators of a Coney Island freak show attraction. Allyson Siegel paid $4,000 to save the dog from joining the show and plans to have the extra leg removed.
Plans for the Puppy
New owner Allyson Siegel stated that she plans to pay an additional $2,000 to have the extra leg removed and has changed the dog's name from Precious to Lilly. Siegel then plans to give the dog to her sister in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The puppy was one of six in a litter to Calvin Owensby. He stated that his girlfriend didn't want to see the otherwise healthy dog in a freak show and accepted Siegel's bid to save her.
