Every year, rock/reggae/hip-hop band 311 institutes "311 Day," on March 11, when 311 can celebrate its fans and 311 fans can celebrate the band. A special concert in New Orleans commemorated 3-11 Day in 2008. The band will release the album Uplifter in June 2009. A deluxe edition of the album will include the documentary The Road to 311 Day about the days leading up to the 2008 concert.
The band announced in 2009 that it would do an online video chat on March 11, 2009, at 6 p.m. Pacific Time to celebrate the day. The chat would be available at the band's Web site and on ustream.com.
