2M4M is the acronym of an anti-gay marriage initiative called 2 Million for Marriage, promoted by the conservative group National Organization for Marriage. Ironically, the acronym also resembles a common abbreviation for "men seeking men" used in chat rooms: "M4M."Urban Dictionary: m4m In the latter context, "2M4M" can appear to mean "two men seeking men." The political blog Talking Points Memo (TPM.com) called the coincidence "an unintentional but hilarious nod to gay sex chatters everywhere."Talking Points Memo: Anti-Gay Rights Group Calls its Marriage Campaign '2M4M' (April 10, 2009) The acronym has also inspired a response in the form of a pro-gay marriage campaign, Two Men for Marriage (2M4M.org).
