27 Dresses

27 Dresses is a 2008 romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. It was directed by Anne Fletcher and written by Aline Brosh McKenna.

Jane Nichols (Katherine Heigl) has been a bridesmaid 27 times. While she is attending one wedding, she is pushed over by a crowd. Kevin (James Marsden) helps her up. Kevin is actually a write for the New York City Journal and uses the name Malcolm Doyle, who is Nichols' favorite writer. Eventually Nichols' finds out who Kevin really is. Nichols' plans to become a bridesmaid for the 28th time for her sister Tess' (Malin Akerman) wedding to a man she has secretly been crushing on. Nichols' soon begins to examine her "always a bridesmaid" lifestyle.
