The trailer for the most disasterific film of all time. Originally posted on www.io9.com by Garrison Dean as part of his weekly post.
The parody trailer "2012 It's a Disaster" re-edits sequences of the trailer for the disaster movie 2012, directed by Roland Emmerich. The trailer is edited to look like a disaster movie from the 1970s.
2012 Its a Disaster is made to look as if it is presented by Columbia pictures and has two sound tracks, "Okay Dokey" and "Bongolia" from Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band, which sound incredibly like a mixture of intro music from Streets of San Francisco and the A Team. The video presents every disaster you can imagine, with titles in the 1970s disaster movie trailer format and showing raining fire, plane disaster, train disaster, whole city disaster and much more.
To date, March 2010, the youtube video has received a little shy of 1 million views since its posting on July 5 2009, and has had over 1700 text comments and almost 3,500 ratings, currently with a 5 star rating. Many of the comments state that if this were the official trailer for the actual 2010 movie they would be more tempted to go watch it at the theater. One poster states that while he was at the movies the official trailer was shown and all he could do was remember this parody video, which caused him to burst into laughter, to the disapproval of other theater goers.
