Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, Martina McBride, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and Yolanda Adams. The artists covered "Think (Freedom)," "Respect," and "Sisters are Doing it for Themselves," to name a few.

The powerhouse voices combined to sing the songs, no doubt putting their best voice forward in order to hold up to the previous woman, as well as being individually featured in five separate solos.

Pop sensation Lady Gaga performed her new song "Born This Way" during the Grammy show with a troupe of singers. Gaga emerged from her glowing egg in a nude colored vinyl skirt and midriff with pointed shoulders. THe singer did a direct translation of the music and only stopped dancing to play the piano. The dancers worse plastic gowns reminiscent of hospital gowns. The dancers removed the gowns to finish the performance in stripped down nude bathing suits.

Miranda Lambert 2011 Grammy Performance

Miranda Lambert's performance of The House That Built Me at the 2011 Grammy Awards was preceded by an introduction given by her fiancée, Blake Shelton.  The House That Built Me was nominated for Song Of The Year twice, as Shelton explained in his introduction.  Lambert dedicated her performance to "all the great artists who have come before us, who set the stage for us to be here, where we are right now."

Lambert's performance appeared before a backdrop of images from her childhood, including photographs of her childhood home and her family, underscoring the imagery from her song about returning home to the house that was the place she was "built" as a person.

Muse 2011 Grammy Performance

The rock group Muse performed their Grammy nominated song, for best Rock performance by a duo or group with vocals "Resistance"  on lofted stage boxes that lit in different formations throughout the performance. Janelle Monae, Bruno Mars, BOB 2011 Grammy Performances

Bruno Mars sang "Nothing on You" a collaboration with BOB, another nominated singer and frequent collaborator, and then switched to black and white television screen to sing a tribute to the former days of classic performers. Justin Bieber 2011 Grammy Performance

The teenage protégé of Usher started the performance with footage from 2007 where he auditioned in front of Usher, who would go on to advance the pop idol's career. Bieber opened simply by strumming his song on the guitar after a short discourse with Usher. Then dancers came from the back of the house with drums playing through the isles.

Bieber then started dancing with multiple back up dancers moving throughout the large stage and lofted platforms. Jaden Smith, son of actor Will Smith, joined Bieber onstage to sing towards the end of the performance.

Usher ended the set with an entire dance crew and performed his own nominated song "Raymond v. Raymond."

Mumford and Sons and The Avett Brothers with Bob Dylan 2011 Grammy Performance

The bluegrass group Mumford and Sons opened with "The Cave" in front of a large red curtain. The four man group was backed up by two horn players. Each artist seemed to give an exhausting performance, chock full of enthusiasm.

The curtain opened to reveal the Avett Brothers, who performed "Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise." The group also has a piano, guitar and string section.

Bob Dylan emerged to sing a rusty version of "Maggie's Farm" joined by both Mumford and Sons and the Avett Brothers. The entire ensamble appeared to scream out the song and back up the legendary Dylan.

Lady Antebellum 2011 Grammy Performances

The country trio Lady Antebellum performed a live version of "American Honey" and "Need You Now" at the 2011 Grammy Awards. The simple act wore all black and showcased their talent without any flashy dance numbers or wardrobe changes.

Cee Lo Green 2011 Grammy Performances

Hands down the most memorable performance is by Cee Lo Green dressed in vibrant plumage and sequin hat. The Muppets joined Cee Lo in the space set design complete with rocket ships and moon terrain to sing "F*** You (Forget You)." Despite the offensive and angry title, the song has been celebrated and is nominated for a Grammy award.

Surprisingly, Gwyneth Paltrow joined Cee Lo on stage to sing the "Forget You" clean version of the hit sing. In a simple black jumpsuit and feather earrings, Paltrow climbed on top of the piano Cee Lo was playing and crooned along with him.

Katy Perry 2011 Grammy Performances

Katy Perry started her performance with "Not LIke the Movies" in an angelic setting sitting on a swing connected to a large fabric screen. After the soft serenade, Perry switched to "Teenage Dreams" with dancers wearing red, heart attire. The background was almost covered in hearts with candy hearts on large screens, very fitting as the day before Valentine's Day. The entire crowd was singing along, even capturing Nicole Kidman singing to the infectious song on camera.

Rihanna Dr. Dre and Eminem 2011 Grammy Performance

Rihanna opened the performance wearing a large ball gown with bright red hair to sing "Love the Way You Lie." Eminem emerged from the main stage with flames broadcasted on the screens on stage. Rihanna marched over to meet him on the stage.

Skylar Grey also sang "I Need a Doctor" with Eminem keeping the high energy going with another duet. The true doctor, Dr. Dre, joined Eminem onstage to finish the long set of collaborations.

Mick Jager 2011 Grammy Performance

Mick Jager of the Rolling Stones made his first performance on the Grammy's with "I Need You," a tribute to Solomon Burke and what he contributed to the music industry. Jager at 67 years old managed to dance all across the large stage in a jade green jacket. Jager went on stage after a tribute to the artists that have passed away this year, a small jab that he is indeed alive and kicking after years of drug abuse.

Barbra Steisand 2011 Grammy Performance

Barbra Streisand performed at the Grammy's in a purple gown that fit well and was very age appropriate. The legendary singer has been honored two days prior to the performance at the MusiCares gala. The 68-year-old has won eight Grammys spanning her career and has been nominated for many more.

Rihanna and Drake 2011 Grammy Performance

Rihanna made another wardrobe change and got on stage to perform "What's My Name?" with Drake. A complete 180 shift from the previous performance by Barbra Streisand, Rihanna wore a scantily clad panties with fringe top combo. Her and Drake grinded suggestively on stage and then Rihanna participated in a dance number with many dancers and flames once again decorating the stage.

Arcade Fire 2011 Grammy Performances

The Arcade Fire is an ensamble of up to 12 musicians that play a of instruments with heavy strings and two drummers. The group performed "The Month of May" a heavy rock song that is a less known track from The Suburbs album nominated for an award. BMX rider Matt Hoffman rode on stage in front of the band doing tricks in the heavy flashing stage lights.

After the band won the Album of the Year award, the group members took the stage one more time and played the hit single "Ready to Start," a song from The Suburbs album. The performance marked a much anticipated win for the group and seemed to emit a different energy that was lacking in the previous stage performance.
