The FIFA World Cup 2010 will take place between the 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. It will be the 19th World Cup tournament to take place and the first time the tournament will been hosted by a nation within the Confederation of African Football. South Africa was chosen to host the event ahead of Morocco and Egypt.

There will be a total of 10 stadiums to host the World Cup. 5 new stadiums are under construction, 3 of them to hold matches and 2 of them for practice, and an existing 5 stadiums currently being upgraded for the event.
