2010 World Series

The 2010 World Series is the final round of the 2010 MLB Playoffs and determines the world champion of Major League Baseball for the 2010 season. In the series, the winner of winner of the 2010 National League Championship Series, the San Francisco Giants, defeated the 2010 American League Championship Series, the Texas Rangers, in five games to secure the championship. The 2010 World Series began on October 27, 2010, and concluded on November 1, 2010. The exact dates, times, locations and participating teams were announced after the Championship Series concluded. San Francisco had home-field advantage, hosting games one and two. They won the first game of the 2010 World Series at home with a score of 11-7 and increased their series lead to two games to none by winning game two with a score of 9-0. Game three was played at the home field of the American League Champion Rangers, a game that Texas won 4-2 to reduce their deficit to a single game. San Francisco however shutout the Rangers in game four with a score of 4-0 to pull within one win of the championship. 2009 World Series

In the 2009 MLB Playoffs, the defending World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies won the National League Championship Series, qualifying to play in the World Series against the American League Champion New York Yankees. The Yankees, who had the home-field advantage, defeated the Phillies in six games to win their 27th Championship.
