Background and History
In 1957 was the first championship for what now is a known as a Celtic dynasty. It was a long hard-fought 7 games with the Hawks. Jim Loscutoff won the game for the Celtics in double overtime with two free throws. In 1969, it marked the third time the Lakers-Celtics finals went to the seventh game. This series had legends such as: Chamberlin, Baylor, and West and Boston won the series with a 108-106 victory. In the 90’s it was the Michael Jordan ERA, when he lead the Chicago Bulls to six championships. The most memorable had to be in 1997, game 5, when Michael Jordan came down sick and had the stomach virus. He ended up scoring 38 points and captured his fifth title in seven years. The most recent years have been enjoyed as the likes of watching, Dwyane Wade willing his team for a comeback NBA Finals victory after being down 0-2. Also watching the two powerhouses the past two season win championships again in 2008 and 2009, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers respectively.
