2010 NBA Draft

The NBA Draft is where new players from college or overseas gets drafted by an NBA team to become part of the National Basketball Association. It is held annually around the end of June. The draft is always held at Madison Square Garden in New York City at prime time (7P.M.). It is always shown on ESPN and you can follow the draft online as well. Some of the requirements for players to enter the draft must meet the following: Must be 19 years or older, if not an international player than the player must play at least one year of college before being able to enter the draft. A player be born on or before December 31, 1991. If a player hires an agent for the draft than that player will forfeit his remaining years of college eligibility, regardless of being drafted or not, however, if a player does not hire an agent and does not get drafted than that player can return to college and play his remaining years. As for determining the draft order, it is done by a lottery. The first 14 picks belong to teams that did not make the playoffs. Also the lottery determines the first three selections of the draft based on the lottery.
