When the award winner was named for the 2010 CMT Music Awards Collaborative Video of the Year, it was a first time winner in this category for Hillbilly Bone performers Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins. History of the Collaborative Video of the Year Awards

This CMT Music Award category has not named a winner in all years. It has been an established category since 2002 when Willie Nelson and Lee Ann Womack won the first award for their video "Mendocino County Line". Nelson repeated on the win list for this category again in 2004 with "Beer For My Horses". Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley are both named winners in this award category on two different occasions also.
