The 2010 Chevy Camaro became popular upon its release due to a strong body style that is similar to the 1969 Camaro and powerful V6 and V8 engines that promise 304 to 426 horsepower. The body style also shares some of the features of the older Pontiac G8 sedan. The 2010 Chevy Camaro was created by General Motors as a modern-day muscle car stacked to compete with the performance and style of the Ford Mustang, the 2009 Dodge Challenger, and Mazda Miata in a class of sporty, affordable performance cars. Although the 2010 version of the Chevy Camaro was created as a 2-door coupe, a convertible version of the car was introduced during the first part of 2011. Some of the models available are the LT, LS, and SS, with the SS version considered to be the top of the line. The LS and LT models offer a 3.6 liter V6 engine capable of producing up to 304 horsepower. SS models equipped with an automatic transmission offer a 6.2 liter V8 engine that is capable of 400 horsepower, while manual transmission SS models can produce up to 426 horsepower.
