SEMA Car of the Year
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro claimed the title of Car of the Year at the 2009 SEMA (Special Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas.
At least 50 tricked out Camaros were on display, including Jay Leno's twin-turbo, 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 Camaro and the Camaro Synergy, a special-edition Camaro that features 21-inch custom wheels, ground-effects lower body kit, rally stripes and a high rear spoiler.c c
2010 Camaro at Daytona
A 2010 Camaro was the pace car of the 2009 Daytona 500, which was held on February 15, 2009. It had been 40 years since a Camaro had served as pace car for the Daytona 500.
The responsibilities of the pace car include starting the race and keeping the pace during caution laps.c
Camaro in Transformers Movie
In the 2007 Transformers movie, the character Bumblebee starts off as a 1976 Camaro and then changes to a fifth-generation Camaro. However, the car was actually a heavily modified Pontiac GTO with the exterior and interior designed to mimic the Camaro Concept car. In the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Bumblebee's car persona is a modified fifth-generation Camaro.
