The preliminary order for the 2009 NFL draft was announced at the conclusion of the 2008 National Football League season on December 28, 2008. The first overall selection will go to the Detroit Lions, who completed the first-ever 0-16 season in NFL history.
The 2009 NFL draft was held on April 25 and April 26, 2009, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
