2008 Montana Primary
Montana held a Democratic primary on June 3, 2008. South Dakota held a primary on the same day. Barack Obama was announced the projected winner soon after polls closed. Obama claimed victory in the fight for the democratic nomination in a speech made after the results were announced.
However, Hillary Clinton , in a speech made after her victory in South Dakota, still refused to confirm her withdrawal from the race.

Clinton Refuses to Drop Out
Clinton was widely expected to drop out on June 3 and back Obama in his quest for the presidency. In a speech made in New York after the South Dakota results were projected, she said she would be making "no decision tonight" on the future of her campaign. Her words came after many news outlets were openly discussing Obama's victory.

Early polls show that Barack Obama is favored in the primary by a large margin. Obama needs 26 more delegates to secure the Democratic nomination
It has been speculated that Hillary Clinton will concede Obama's victory during a speech to be given in New York City on the night of June 3, 2008.
