The 2008 New Hampshire Primary was held on January 8, 2008. With 99% of the precincts reporting in, New York Senator Hillary Clinton won with 39% while Illinois Senator Barack Obama had 36% of the votes in the 2008 New Hampshire Primary. Despite winning the primary, Clinton failed to secure the party's nomination and on June 3, 2008, Barack Obama was named the Democratic presidential nominee.
