    Hillary Clinton was declared the winner very soon after polls closed. When all the results were in, Clinton won by 65% to Obama's 30%.

    Polls leading up to primary day indicated that Kentucky's Democratic voters favored Senator Hillary Clinton.

    1. 70% of white men and 74% of white women voted for Clinton
    2. 57% of the voters were women
    3. 89% of the voters were white
    4. Clinton prevailed among all age, income and education categories
    5. Obama was more popular amongst those who thought Clinton's proposal to suspend the federal gas tax was a bad idea

    Hillary Clinton was hoping for a big win in Kentucky, and the majority of the polls ahead of primary day indicated she would get her wish. Most had Clinton with a substantial 30% lead over Barack Obama among the state's Democratic voters.
