About 1and1
1and1 internet Inc. was formed in 1992 when it took over the marketing operations of BTX. With an innovative outlook 1and1 launched an online service. It established itself in marketing services and introduced smart software for terminals called KIT which was very successful.
After the success of KIT 1and1 introduced a telecom decoder which was later popularly known as browser. United Internet, the parent company of 1and1 offered its first Initial Public Offering in 1998 which was the first ever public issue by any internet company. After this it started its other services like domain hosting, email ecommerce etc.
From June 2000 it started its international operations in Europe and other countries. Today 1and 1 has become the world’s largest web hosting and internet services company with over 6 million customers and more than 2400 employees. The company is regularly making new innovations and implementing new technologies in order to provide best services to its customers.
Just recently, 1And1 has done some major overhaul to their web mail program after receiving much feedback. They are rolling out the new version steadily to customers and everyone should be updated by early 2010.
