This is the first Olympic season when the three flags of the Olympic games were raised. The Olympic motto "Citius, Altius, Fortius", which means "swifter, higher, stronger", was also used for the first time during the 1924 Summer Olympics. US athlete Johnny Weissmuller, starred in 12 movies of Tarzan after winning three gold medals in swimming events, and a bronze medals in the water polo event.
