16 Blocks is a crime/drama film released in 2006 about a New York City cop entrusted with the job of escorting a witness to the courthouse.
Plot
Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) is an aging police detective who has been tasked with transporting Eddie Bunker (Mos Def) 16 blocks from his jail cell to the courthouse. Along the way, it becomes apparent that the fast-talking young Bunker has made enemies among apparently corrupt cops who continually attempt to murder Bunker before he can make it to the courthouse. Detective Mosley has to choose between playing along with his corrupt colleagues while an otherwise innocent man is murdered or upholding the law and bringing Bunker safely to the courthouse.
