A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed in northern Iraq on August 22, 2007, killing all 14 United States soldiers aboard. According to the military, the helicopter was not shot down, but experienced mechanical problems. The helicopter had been carrying four crewmembers and 10 passengers from Task Force Lightning.
