1000 Ways to Die

1000 Ways to Die is a Spike TV original two part reality special about the process of dying. The show aired on May 14 and May 21, 2008 and is based on real people and incidents.

The Premise

Experts in forensic science, pathology and toxicology, as well as many other areas, seek to unravel the mysteries of the human body as it relates to dying.

1000 Ways to Die Segments

  1. "Semi-cide": A man working under his truck was run over by a semi-truck driver that did not see him lying there. His body was severed in half, yet he continued to live.
  2. "Dive Bombed": Three friends die in a Cessna airplane crash, but their deaths were actually caused by an earlier incident. A Nitrogen build-up in their bodies, from an earlier scuba dive, rendered them helpless as the plane climbed in altitude. The malady which cause the crash is Decompression sickness, otherwise known as "The Bends".
  3. "Fang Banged": Two brothers Bobby Joe and Darryl went target shooting and Darryl started shooting at Bobby Joe as a prank. While running from his brother, Bobby Joe fell on top of a rattle snake which jammed his fangs into his chest, killing him instantly.
  4. "Lesbocution": On her way to a bi-sexual encounter, Laurie removed her shoes and stood in a puddle of water. She leaned on a metal light pole which caused the current to race through her body, contributing to her death by electrocution.
