100 Things to Do Before You Die: Travel Events You Just Can't Miss is an unconventional travel guide written by Neil Teplica and Dave Freeman. The book was published in 1999 and features 100 must-see events and tips and suggestions on how visit them.
"This life is a short journey," Freeman and Teplica observe in this unusual travel guide. "How can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?"
Then they offer detailed suggestions for how to go about achieving the list. In their examples, they describe Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska, the Pageant of the Masters in Southern California (where real humans are magically transformed into works of art via lighting and effects), Mardi Gras in New Orleans and much more. If a reader actually chooses events from the list, these wonders could take years and cover territory around the globe.

Lance Mackey Wins Iditarod 2010
Here is some footage from the Iditarod 2010, the thirty-eighth year of this dog sled race. This is one of the suggestions provided in “100 Things to Do Before You Die.” The annual Iditarod is a grueling run for a team of sled dogs and a human. When Lance Mackey won the 2010 Iditarod, it was his fourth win in a row. It took him almost 9 days to complete the race, which ends in Nome, Alaska.
